About the Recipe

Minted lamb steaks are a delicious and flavorful dish that feature tender cuts of lamb seasoned with mint and other complementary herbs and spices. The steaks are typically grilled or pan-seared to achieve a crispy and flavorful exterior while maintaining a juicy and tender interior. The mint adds a refreshing and bright flavor to the dish, which pairs well with a variety of sides such as roasted vegetables, potatoes, or a fresh salad. Minted lamb steaks are a popular dish in many cultures and cuisines, and they are often enjoyed as a hearty and satisfying meal for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

  • 4 lamb steaks (around 6 oz each)

  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced

  • Lemon grass

  • 4 tbsp of mint jelly

  • 1/4 cup of fresh mint leaves, finely chopped

  • 2 tbsp of olive oil

  • 1 tbsp of lemon juice

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

  2. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic, mint, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to create a marinade.

  3. Place the lamb steaks in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag, and pour the marinade over the steaks. Make sure to coat the steaks evenly, and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight).

  4. Remove the steaks from the marinade and discard any excess marinade.

  5. Place the lamb steaks on the grill or grill pan and cook for around 3-4 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness (internal temperature of 145°F for medium-rare).

  6. Let the lamb steaks rest for a few minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute. Serve with your choice of sides and enjoy!

Note: If you don't have a grill or grill pan, you can also cook the lamb steaks in a skillet over medium-high heat for similar results.
